Tuesday Tune, vol 68 - Duran Duran

I have a serious thing for Duran Duran.  I've had this serious thing for Duran Duran since I was 12.  That's 26 years of Duran Duran-o-Rama.  Many of you know, many of you do not, that this Duran Duran teeny-bopper-heart-throb-foursome can produce and execute some awesome music, even to this day!

What I wouldn't give for one conversation (and of course a photo) with John Taylor.  Sigh.

(Johnny's on the right. Plays the bass and shares my birthday.  Sigh.)

Check out their new "All You Need Is Now" album.  I lurve it so much it's got, like 18 stars.

Runway Runaway
All You Need Is Now
Blame The Machines
Being Followed
Leave a Light On
Safe (In the Heat of the Moment)
Girl Panic!
The Man Who Stole a Leopard
Before the Rain

I knew we had a connection on some other plane of consciousness. I was a massive fan. Massive! Arena album...best live album ever! Don't tell my parents but I would sneak across the border into the US everytime they would visit. Those were the times.

I found your recent sentiments on Duran Duran's new album, All You Need Is Now, and I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated such sweet, heartfelt words. It is an exciting time to be a DD devotee as the band is garnering critical acclaim and preparing to promote their latest release. It is a collection of work to be proud of and I really appreciated your own little spotlight.

As a Duran Duran archivist over two decades, I have cultivated a unique perspective on the band's storied career. The New Year promises to be one to remember with the band's new album and an upcoming tour that could certainly be one of their best.

If you might be interested in browsing a sample of my archive for a view to a thrill, I invite you to visit my website: durandy.com!

All my best,
