Tuesday Tune Vol 27 - Lost

Today's Tuesday Tunes got way out-of-hand.   Waaay out-of-hand.  This out-of-hand Tuesday Tune, in its 27th edition, is yet another microcosm of my out-of-hand life.  Let's just say I have a propensity to get carried away.  Waaaay away.

For example, I've gotten carried away with this Lost thing.  I've gone beyond fascinated and crashed into obsessed.  Just now in fact, I was wishing I could get married again so as I could have a Lost themed wedding.  Wouldn't that be RAD!?  The date would be August 15th of course (8-15). We'd commit the matrimony in Dharmaville then sip coconut cocktails in a home-made fuselage.  Dinner and dancing would take place in in a hatch complete with a glow-in-the-dark map of the island.  RAD is an understatement.

So a few days ago, I thought, "The Lost season premier is fast approaching. I need a playlist." ('Cause I need a playlist for everything.)  Three days and 50 songs later, I had my playlist --decided to post some of them as Tuesday Tunes.  Trouble is I had trouble.  Trouble limiting what would go on the list. After scrupulous and brain-bending agony, I just copy and pasted the whole dang 50-song playlist.  Figured I'd pick a few of them to find youtube clips and leave it at that.  You know, because finding a youtube clip for the whole dang 50-song playlist would just be too much.  Overboard and obsessive.  Trouble is, I had trouble.  Trouble limiting that too.

Incidentally, I'm the Copy-and-Paste master.  I'm gonna make it to the Copy-and-Paste Olympics.  I do a mean Find-and-Replace too.

Carried away is an understatement, but you just made my day with this. I might need to write about this in my journal. If I had a journal that would definitely happen.

And a LOST themed wedding? Best idea ever. We could get a group together and do it all Guiness book of world records-style! RAD!

I am now over my exclamation point limit.

Why not April 8 for the wedding? Or if you're from overseas, 4 August?

Nice playlist. I've got a super-boring task at work today. Guess what I'll be listening to as I re-read an outsourcing contract?

You are a little bit crazy but why do I still want to join you on your "Lost" escapades?

I am so excited for tonight. I just wish I had a DVR.

Megan and Keli'i said...

BTW, that "Last Supper" "Lost" photo is rad.

p.s. Just watched the Lie in our Graves video. Tiny Tim is truly a goblin created for the sole purpose of playing the guitar. That man is a genius!

Ah Jessica... are you going to get a journal and name it after me? I'm so touched. Also, you have a goblin fetish. I think you should see someone about that.

Junkie, I picked the 8/15 date for a wedding because it would be like flight 815. But I suppose it wouldn't be good to have crash-like metaphors in the beginning of matrimony... So maybe April 8th is a good idea.

Megan and Keli'i, as I said before... I'm a little crazy. But I'm happy crazy. Incidentally, I'm enamored by your living in Hawaii. It's almost as if you're on the island with the Lost folks. Oh right, you are on the island with the Lost folks. I remember that about you. Didn't you see Hurley at the grocery store buying some Rach?

I can't believe I forgot to put some Beach Boys in that list! Drat.

I suppose I could see myself about my goblin issues. Cheaper that way. Then I can afford a really nice "Rabid Journal."

I think I'd like to be happy crazy in Hawaii and perhaps just maybe happily crazy intoxicated in Hawaii....Jessica put me up to the drinking games so..She probably just wanted more clients.

So did you listen to the Lost List during a Lost Supper with the Donner's?

Wow. I don't even know what to say. Not only do you have the mental stamina to have made it through the last few seasons (I gave up after four, it was harder than triginometry to keep up with for my pea-brain) but you have managed to combine Morcheeba, Smashing Pumpkins, (drown! Musical perfection! Billy is a rock-god.) johnny cash, Patsy Cline, sunny day real estate, CCR.... I'm being redundant here, but I'm just overwhelmed by your musical radness. Good work. Enjoy your finale. It's sure to be a mindscrew.

I am doing research today to see if there is a contest for the biggest lost fan on the planet.

um, could you maybe give it a little effort next time? sheesh.

but seriously if your tax software's Q gets A'd with this level of detail, you're no doubt delivering a rock solid product.

btw i checked snopes and despite the rampant rumors, there are no copy-and-paste olympics. sorry to disappoint. you may, however, be interested in the upcoming ctrl+x games.

rabidrunner said...

RYAN! The clever delivery of that comment might just earn you an itunes gift card.

CTRL+X GAMES? You are so funny. You are so smart. So very smart 'n funny.

(p.s. Might you remind the boss o' rabid about my persistent attention to detail?)

rabidrunner said...

Oh and you might want to know that being an awesome copy and pastist is part of the job description.

Julie said...

What, no "You All Everybody" on the list?

rabidrunner said...

Julie - I looked for "You All Everybody" for a while and couldn't find a legitimate copy for me to own on my person. Itunes doesn't carry it, and I couldn't find anywhere to buy it. The nature of my business is such that I've sworn over the bodies of both Yahoos that I'd never ever ever use a pier-to-pier file sharing network, so I couldn't download it illegally.

I suppose I'll go look right now for a youtube clip and post it on the list. If it shows up very first, then it looks like I found it.

Megan and Keli'i said...

I'm dying to know...what did you think of the premiere? I know you said you wouldn't turn this into a "Lost" blog, but you gotta let us know!

Nice to see that Echo and B.A.D made the playlist.

Julie said...

Also, is that picture supposed to look like The Last Supper or am I just stating the very obvious?

rabidrunner said...

Julie, the photo is supposed to look like Davinci's Last Supper. It's titled The Lost Supper. (I know right? The Lost people are too clever for their own britches.)
