It's summer and the training involved has been a bit of a bummer. It started out fantastic. I was running faster and stronger than ever (good). Then I didn't get into the St. George Marathon (bad, 'cause all my buddies did). Then I ran a 5:50 mile during repeats in August (good). Then I ran another mile repeat and felt my hamstring go POP! (ahh! BAD!) After lots of massage and ice baths, I'm attempting the Top of Utah Marathon. The hamstring is still a little tender and screams at me if I try to run hard.
I ran the Top of Utah last year and wasn't too impressed with the course. It could have been the fact that I had a six month old baby, was nursing 'round the clock, and still had 20 pounds to lose. I guess we'll see...

Hey how bad could it be? You're in great shape and have an excellent support crew.
